Steel Authority of India (SAIL) will conduct an auction for around 500 t of steel grade pig iron (by road) on 18 Aug’21 from its IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur in West Bengal. The reason behind limited allocation by SAIL is due to low sales realisations as against semis and finished steel products. On 12 Aug the company had offered a negligible quantity of around 40 t of pig iron, which was concluded at INR 37,900/t exw.
