SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (SAIL-RSP) has signed a contract with SMS India Private Ltd and SMS GmBH, Germany on 16 Feb’22. The contract involves installation of the fourth slab caster and ladle furnace at its Steel Melting Shop II. SAIL RSP’s crude steel making capacity stood at 3.5 mnt in FY’21, with 89% share of flats in the product mix.
