Blast furnace 1 of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) that was re-commissioned after upgradation on 9 May’18, surpassed 3 mnt of hot metal production on 21 Mar’22. The upgarded BF and its peripheral facilities have been designed to achieve hot metal production of 2,900 t per day. Post upgrade, it achieved hot metal production of 1 mnt on 13 Oct’19 and 2 mnt on 3 Feb’20.
