SAIL is offering 25,000 MT Pig iron (basic grade) for sale from Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) through its open sale offer.
RSP, a unit of SAIL, has intended to sale 25,000 MT basic grade Pig iron on ‘As is Where is’ and ‘No Complaint’ basis by road & rail. Interested participants can buy minimum quantity of 50 MT or its multiple for delivery through road and a minimum of one rake (approx 2,850 MT) in case of delivery by rail.
Like other markets, SAIL has also reduced its offer by around INR 900/MT for its December delivery to follow the price patterns in the domestic market. SAIL previously had offered basic grade Pig iron at INR 22,300/MT & 22,400/MT delivered by road and rail respectively.

Loading
Loading shall be done by the concerned party with its own labor & equipment for which loading charges shall be declared for excise purpose in case of road delivery. Also, for rail delivery, the loading shall be done by RSP at free of cost.

Domestic Pig Iron Market
Current Pig iron offers in the domestic market are in the range of INR 21,000-23,000/MT (ex-plants in India). Demand for Pig iron continuous on remain dull. Recently, steel giants like NINL and RINL have reduced their offers by INR 1,000-1,200/MT to encourage some buying in the market for December deliveries.
