SAIL had invited a global tender for purchase of 20,000 MT Carbon Steel Slab for its Salem Steel Plant, Tamil Nadu which was due on 22 Jan’18 is likely to get cancelled due to the less participation from the suppliers.
As per sources, they are again getting their required Slab from Bhilai Steel Plant, from which supply was not regular from some time and due to which they were not able to utilize their excess capacity of Hot Rolling mill.
Bhilai Steel Plant on an approx supply around 20,000 MT Slab monthly to Salem Steel Plant.
