India: SAIL intends to purchase 10,620 MT Ferro Silicon

SAIL, a major producer of Steel in India, has released an invitation for tentative purchase of 10,620 MT Ferro Silicon for its various Steel Plants.

Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), a unit of SAIL, intends to procure a tentative quantity of 10,620 MT Ferro Silicon, its requirement for four months, starting Apr’15-Jul’15 for its various Steel plants. The company has invited various indigenous and overseas manufacturers for supply of the material.

Tender applicants should be Ferro Silicon manufacturers and must posses a plant with installed capacity of 4,000 MT per annum. Participants must offer a minimum quantity of 2,700 MT to be supplied in four equal intervals.

Carbon: 0.15% max
Sulphur: 0.05% max

Price Quotations

Domestic Suppliers : Indigenous suppliers should submit their quotations in INR/MT.

Overseas Suppliers: Overseas suppliers should give their quotations on CFR basis giving break-up of FOB price and ocean freight (in USD /Euro) from loading port to discharge port namely Kolkata/ Chennai/ Visakhapatnam port in India.

Mode of Dispatch: Tender applicant shall be responsible for arranging all transportation for timely supply of the material. Materials shall be dispatched by road in full truck-loads on door delivery basis.

Due date for submission of offers: 31 Mar’15 at 13.00 hrs
Opening date: 01 Apr’15 at 10.30 hrs.

Note: Earlier, SAIL floated a global tender to procure 9,000 MT Ferro Silicon for period of 4 months starting Dec’14-Mar’15 with scheduled technical bids closed on 18 Nov’14.
