SAIL increased rebar price by INR 500-1,200/t ($7-16), trade sources report to SteelMint. High input cost resulted in hike in prices, however trade volumes with distributors is yet to pick up. Current rebar (12-32mm) offers are assessed at around INR 39,000/t ex-Mumbai and excluding GST 18%. Project and retail prices may vary as per regions, procurement quantity and payment terms.
