Steel Authority of India (SAIL), government owned and second largest steel producer has floated an export tender for steel products like – billets, bloom, HR plates and wire rod for end October shipment.
The bid due dates for billet, bloom and plate export tender is 18 Aug’17 and that for wire rod tender is 19 Oct’17.

Company’s previous billet export tender for 150*150mm billet in July was concluded at USD 440/MT, FoB India.
Global billet export market overview:
Billet export offers are constantly witnessing hike amid less availability, rising scrap prices and hike in prices of graphite electrodes.
CIS billet export offers have increased this week to USD 500/MT FoB black Sea. Similarly billet export offers in other major markets like China, India and Turkey billet export prices have increased.
Last week, an Indian steel mill concluded a billet export tender for 90*90mm billets at around USD 480-485/MT, FOB which is higher by USD 35/MT against its last floated tender in the month of July.
