India: SAIL Floats 16,200 MT Billet Export Tender

Steel Authority of India – a government of India company has floated export tenders for 16,200 MT billet. The cargo will be shipped from Haldia port.The tender put up for Prime Mild Steel Non-Alloy Concast billets are 5,400 MT (125*125mm) offered from Durgapur Steel plant and 10,800 MT (150*150mm) from IISCO Steel plant and has following specifications – C-0.17-0.23%, Mn-0.5-0.9%, S-0.05% max, P-0.05% max and Si – 0.15-0.35%.

The length of the billets is 9-12 metres.The material shipping is scheduled within 25 Sep’18.Due date for bid submission is 17:00 hrs as per IST on 27 Jul’18.

Other live Indian billet export tenders : Vizag Steel’s 10,000 MT billet (90*90mm IS 2830 C20MMn Gr A) grade. The bid submission due date is 26 Jul’18.

Billet Market Overview – Week 30, 2018

1.CIS billet export offers have softened by USD 5/MT W-o-W amid limited inquiries. Present assessment at USD 495-500/MT, FoB Black Sea.

2.Indian domestic billet prices have continued its downtrend owing to seasonal slow down. Today’s assessment stands at INR 31,700-31,800/MT (USD 460-462) (ex-Mumbai, GST extra).
