Steel Authority of India (SAIL), government owned and second largest steel producer had floated an export tender for 8,000 MT HR plates manufactured from its Rourkela Steel Plant. The bid due date for tender was 18 Aug’17.
According to market sources report to SteelMint, the tender received bids at around USD 525/MT FOB for base grade and size, where as expectation was USD 540-545/MT FOB following which they have cancelled the tender.
Company’s last plate tender floated in Jul’17 was concluded at around USD 480/MT FoB east coast of India for base grade mild steel .
Other private mills are not offering owing to better realizations in domestic market.
Global Plate Market Overview: Week 35
Chinese plate export offers continue to increase this week and has moved up by USD 5-10/MT W-o-W. Current export offers are assessed at USD 520-535/MT, FoB China. Export offers have remained on the higher side amid increasing prices in domestic market.
CIS nations plate export offers are around USD 548-550/MT, FoB Black Sea.
