SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant has rolled out thick web asymmetric (TWA) rails from its Rail & Structural Mill. As many as 429 pairs of end-forged TWA rails weighing about 815 t loaded onto a rake with 14 wagons was flagged off from BSP on 20 Sep’21. This is the biggest lot of TWA rails dispatched directly by SAIL-BSP to Indian Railways. Utilised in cross-over points along railway tracks, this grade of rails was so far been imported.
