SAIL conducted an auction today for 11,000 t (60 kg and 52kg, full length) of commercial rails from Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) in Chhattisgarh. The base price was set at around INR 50,000/t for 60 kg rail. Out of the offered quantity, buyers booked only 3,000 t at base price while 500 t of 52 kg rails were booked at INR 62,400/t exw.
