SAIL conducted an auction for 11,500 t (60 kg and 52kg, full length) commercial rails on 12 Aug’22 from Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP). The base price for 60 kg rail was set at around INR 51,400/t. However, buyers showed no interest due to the higher base price and booked only 1,500 t material at the base price. While 200 t of 52 kg rails were booked at INR 65,000/t exw, sources informed.
