Eastern India based Rungta Mines’ sponge iron plant has reported active demand despite a sharp surge in prices. The supplier confirmed 3,500 t sponge iron (C-DRI) deals today. The deal price for the 78% FeM, mix material was reported at around INR 24,500/t exw Kasira, Odisha & INR 25,000/t exw Chailma, Jharkhand. As per officials, the demand remains average, however expecting prices to remain supportive on account of rising steel prices.
