In the recent notification of Directorate of Mines & Geology, Odisha government declared Rungta Mines Limited (70732), winner of Kedesala North-East iron ore block in Bonai- Kendujhar belt auction held on March 17, 2023. The company submitted the highest final bid at a 100% premium.
Earlier, Odisha government invited bids for granting mining lease of the Kedesala iron ore and manganese block, dated January 9, 2023. Rungta Mines already won the Kendudihi North iron ore block in the Bonai-Keonjhar belt in Odisha. The company emerged as the “preferred bidder” for the block at a premium of 100%. The Kendudihi mineral block is spread across an area of 188 hectares. The mine is blessed with reserves of 109.76 mnt of iron ore with an average Fe 56.53%, as per annual returns.
Details to be considered:
The Kedesala mineral block is spread across an area of 100.439 hectares as per DGPS survey. The mine has reserves of 51.89 MT of iron ore with an average grade being Fe 51.24% as per annual returns. All the iron ore resources are of fine category with very little hard laminated ores intersected in the boreholes. No lumpy ore resources were estimated separately.
