India: RINL’s production impacted due to coal shortage

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has reportedly cut its hot metal production to 9,000-10,000 tonnes per day for two weeks because of coal crunch, sources informed SteelMint. Two blast furnaces are operational on threshold, and coal is expected to arrive by 15 Aug’22. Moreover, due to increased input costs, the company is planning to hike steel prices by INR 500/t in Aug’22.
