India: RINL to shut down one blast furnace for maintenance on coal supply delay

State-owned Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd. (RINL) is planning to temporarily shut down one of its blast furnaces for 10-12 days for scheduled maintenance, SteelMint learnt from credible sources. Total loss of production would approximately be 100,000 t. RINL has decided to undertake the maintenance shutdown mainly due to delay in coal shipments which are expected to be delivered by mid-Feb’22.
