RINL, an Indian government owned and the second largest exporter of Pig iron, based in Vizag (Andhra Pradesh) has offered 30,000 tonnes of the material to international buyers, through an export tender today.
- Specification of the material: Steel grade & Si 1.0% max
- Shipment of the material will take place in the month of November; last date shall be November 30 on FoB Vizag/Gangavaram Port basis.
- Last date of bids submission: Before 15 hrs IST on October 10
- Opening of technical bids: At 15 hrs IST on October 10
- Opening of Price bids: At 15 hrs IST on October 11
- Validity of the Bid: Up to October 15
RINL to ship 120,000 tonnes Pig Iron in September-October
The Pig iron exporter has 4 shipments lined up in the next 45 days for export deals finalized August (last week) onwards.
The company was holding more than one lac tons of Pig iron and was relieved as 3 deals were concluded in a short span of time, including MoU and merchant export basis.
To Spend Rs 7,500 crore to increase Blast Furnace Productivity
In FY 13, the total quantity of Pig iron produced by RINL for sales was 5 lakh tonnes.
RINL is quite confident of achieving 4.5 MnTPA hot metal production in FY 14.
Therefore, it has planned to take a maintenance shut down from another blast furnace during September end.
Since July, operations from one of its blast furnace which produced 1.7 MnTPA Pig iron is on hold due to repairs, improved lining and efficiency and maintenance reasons.
It is likely to start production from the same furnace by December end and with a capacity expansion to 2.2 MnTPA.
Production from another Blast furnace named Godavari will be on hold from September end.
The BF has already produced 35 MnTPA and its efficiency will improve by 0.5 MnTPA then.
