- FCI remains key participant across several destinations
- Karnataka receives 95,000 MT; UP follows with 58,000 MT
Rice rake movement across India remained active during the week, with total tracked movement reaching 398,434 MT, according to BigMint data last updated on 11 September 2026. The movement covers southern, western, northern, and north-eastern destinations, with the Food Corporation of India (FCI) featuring prominently among the consignors and consignees.
Karnataka records highest rice inflow
Karnataka recorded the highest rice inflow during the week at 95,023 MT. Rakes arrived from Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Punjab. FCI was among the key participants, along with the National Co-operative Consumers’ Federation (NCCF) and Murali Rice Mill. Uttar Pradesh followed with 58,233 MT, with supplies moving from Punjab, Haryana, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. FCI, Amba Agro and Hukum Chand were among the listed participants.
Gujarat, Tamil Nadu see substantial movement
Gujarat received 47,095 MT, with supplies originating from Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. The listed participants included Agri India, FCI, Bishnoi Agro, and Shri Gurudev Agro. Tamil Nadu recorded an inflow of 43,361 MT, with movement within Tamil Nadu. TN Civil Supplies and FCI were listed as the participants.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh received 37,383 MT, with supplies coming from Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Jharkhand. The movement involved multiple private participants, including Balaji Rice, Bhagwati Agri, K.N. Resources, Sanjanaa Rice, and NCCE India.
Rice movement continues across north, north-eastern states
Assam received 26,627 MT, with rakes originating from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi and Haryana. The listed participants included Ripuraj Agro, Lunia Marketinga, and FCI.
Rajasthan recorded 18,278 MT, with supplies coming from Punjab and Haryana. The participants included TCG Infra, Meenakshi Traders, Basmati House, Paras Foods and FCI.
Jammu and Kashmir received 5,281 MT from Punjab, involving FCI and Bholenath Overseas.
Tripura received 3,070 MT, with supplies from Delhi, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, involving Tufanganj Agro, Blak Foods and Bhani Agro India.
Other movements included Jharkhand at 16,258 MT, sourced from Odisha; Maharashtra at 18,182 MT, sourced from Punjab and Chhattisgarh; Kerala at 7,736 MT, sourced from Telangana; Manipur at 2,579 MT, sourced from Mullanpur; and Nagaland at 491 MT, sourced from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Outlook
Rice rake movement is expected to remain closely linked to inter-state requirements, FCI dispatches and regional supply needs. Movement from key supply regions such as Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and other producing states will remain important for maintaining rice availability across consuming destinations.
