India’s rebar production stood at 3.26 mnt in May’22, up 17% from 2.79 mnt a month ago, as per Joint Plant Committee (JPC) data. On an annualised basis, production rose marginally by 2% as against 3.20 mnt in May’21. JSW Steel and Tata Steel reported an increase of 3% m-o-m, while RINL saw output rising by a whooping 119% m-o-m to 94,000 t in May. JSPL and SAIL, on the other hand, saw output dropping 5% and 12%, respectively, in May.
