Portside offers for South African RB2 (5500 kcal/kg NAR) grade coal rose to INR 23,000/t at Gangavaram Port, against the last traded price of INR 21,500/t. Offers in Haldia were at INR 24,000/t. The offers rose as imported RB1 prices (6000 kcal/kg NAR) rose sharply to $274/t FOB basis surrounding cargo shortage at RBCT Port. Bids from sponge iron manufacturers, declined amid a wait-and-watch approach.
