India: RB2 coal prices high on strong demand from sponge units

In a confirmed deal, about 8,000 t of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 11,000/t at Gangavaram Port, while another 3,000 t of old RB2 stock was sold at INR 10,700/t at Haldia. RB2 coal across ports continues to trade at higher levels amid strong demand from sponge iron units and the rise in domestic coal prices.
