SteelMint’s benchmark sponge P-DRI (FeM 80%) prices moved up by INR 500-600/t to INR 29,000/t, exw Raipur (Central India), on 28 May’21. Prices rose following the rally in billet prices by INR 1,100/t d-o-d.
- Around 3,500 t of P-DRI trades were recorded at INR 28,800-29,000/t, on exw and FoR Raipur basis, including those by plants based outside Raipur. However, sources associated with these mills later claimed that transactions have been concluded at INR 29,100/t, FoR Raipur.
- Sponge C-DRI (0-20mm) trades were reported at INR 30,400-30,600/t, on exw and FoR basis.
- Bids for DR-CLO grade sponge iron improved to INR 31,000-31,200/t against offers of INR 31,200-31,500/t, exw.
