SteelMint in conversation with market participants learned that Raipur (central India) based pellet manufacturers have decreased their offers today by INR 300/MT. Current offers for Fe 63% grade to INR 6,500/MT (ex-Raipur, GST extra) as against last assessment at INR 6,800/MT. Few major pellet makers have lowered offers.
According to market sources report to SteelMint, Central India based sponge makers have sourced pellets from Odisha last week at competitive offers around INR 5,600-5,750/MT (ex-plant). The freight charges to Raipur are at around INR 700-750/MT.
Serajuddin- Odisha’s major merchant iron ore miner has also lowered iron ore lump offers effective on 02 Aug’19 for 5-18 mm (Fe 63%) by INR 300/MT to INR 3,700/MT (ex-mines, including Royalty, DMF, & NMET) However, as per sources, fines prices have remained unchanged.
P-DRI prices in Raipur remained on the lower side. Current assessment down by INR 350/MT W-o-W to 16,000/MT against last assessment at INR 16,350/MT.
