A couple of ERW pipe mills in Raipur, central India, have concluded patra export deals to Nepal. About six mini rakes (around 7,000 t) of patra deals were reported in the last four-six days at a price range of $685-695/t (loaded on to rake), equivalent to $720/t, CPT Nepal. Fresh offers by suppliers are higher by around $30/t at $715-720/t (loaded on to rake) and deals could soon be settled at these levels as HRC prices are quite high. Fresh HRC export offers by eastern India-based primary mills are reported at around $980-985/t, CPT Nepal. Currently, the HRC premium over patra is $250/t, which is nudging users to prioritise patra use.
