India: Raipur mills book hefty sponge iron volumes from Odisha, prices fall

SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge P-DRI (FeM 80%) in Raipur fell by INR 200/t to INR 35,300/t exw.
4,100 t of FeM 78-80% P-DRI deals were recorded today, 55% of which was sold by Odisha-based plants at INR 34,800-35,100/t DAP Raipur FeM 78-79%, while Raipur, Raigarh based plants sold at INR 35,300-35,400/t exw & DAP Raipur basis, FeM 80%.
Improved supply from Odisha-based plants and falling billet prices have pulled down offers by Raipur plants.
