India: Rail link connecting Odisha’s Talcher coalfield to be operational by year end

Angul-Balram railway line of 14 km is expected to be operationalised by the end of this year. This will cater to evacuation of 25 mnt of coal from Mahanadi Coalfield Ltd (MCL) mines in Talcher coalfields. The rail corridor will improve faster movement of rakes to Paradip and Dhamra ports. The next phase includes 54 kms rail line between Balram-Jarpada-Tentuloi which is expected to be commissioned by Dec’25.
