India: Punjab State Power Corporation imposes 48-hour shutdown

The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has imposed regulatory measures from 1-3 Jul’21 i.e. for 48 hours, while the time period can vary by two hours or so depending on zone-wise utilisation, as per sources. The total shutdown for 48 hours is both for hot charging and standalone mills, which may support existing levels for semi-finished steel whereas raw materials may witness a slight correction. It is not yet clear whether this temporary restriction will be extended further. Industry sources assume that restrictions are likely to be extended for a few days, north India-based traders informed SteelMint.
