The Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd (PSPCL) has further extended the power cuts it had initially re-imposed from 7-10 Jul’21 (72 hours) for another 24 hours, as per reports. Industries can now resume operations from 8 a.m. of 11 Jul in all DS zones. The regulatory restriction aims to increase power supply for agricultural activities. Meanwhile, the failure of the Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd in Punjab’s Mansa district has triggered acute shortage in the state. However, PSPCL has confirmed that the power regulatory measures are applicable only for industrial consumers and all essential industries are exempted.
