INDIA-Punjab govt raises power prices by 9-12% w.e.f 1st April 2013

Giving no relief to steel makers in Punjab, one of the largest secondary steel producing state, government has raised power prices by 9-12% effective from April 1 2013.

“Power prices have been raised by 9-12%, although impact has been seen on prices last week itself. Current offers for MS ingot are in range of Rs 32,600-700/t (Ex-Works Mandi Govindgarh), up by almost Rs 600-700 per tonne, W-o-W.

Re-bar prices have also gone up by Rs 500-700 per tonne in line wit rise in ingot/billet prices in Punjab.
