About 65-70% of power cuts were reported in the induction furnace (IF)-based steel mills at the Jindal Industrial Park in Raigarh’s Punjipathra, central India. There are about 45 IFs which are currently struggling due to power cuts. A source said that the furnaces in Punjipathra are getting power for eight hours a day due to the shortfall in power generation amid irregular supply of coal, with input costs being another key factor.
