Primary Re-bar producers have raised offers by INR 700-1,000/MT for Feb’14. Average demand and material shortage made them to move offers northward.
During the conversation an official person of SAIL said, “Demand for finish long is average in primary & secondary market, but owing to low inventory primary Re-bar offers increased for this month.”
- SAIL, one of the largest state-owned steelmaking company has increased Re-bar offers by INR 1,000/MT.
- Tata Steel, an Indian multinational steelmaking company has raised its offer by INR 500-700/MT.
- RINL, an Indian government-owned steel producer based in Visakhapatnam, has moved up its Finish Long offers by INR 700-750/MT.
- JSW, India’s leading integrated steel producer has increased its Re-bar offer by INR 900/MT.

Whereas, respective dealers are trading at INR 1,000/MT higher for the sizes which are low available and at INR 300-500/MT higher for the rest sizes, SteelMint learned.
