Amid the recent sell-off of old stock of Indonesian coal at Indian ports, 4200 GAR coal at INR 9,000/t at Kandla Port this week, as against INR 12,000/t for new stocks. Prices of old stocks of 3400 GAR grade were at INR 8,500/t, cheaper by INR 1,000/t compared to new material. Several coal-consuming units have cut down on procurement amid high prices.
