Prakash Sponge Iron & Power Pvt Ltd emerged as the highest bidder for Janehar iron ore block auction, offering a premium of 170.3%. The block, of around 54.51 Ha as per DGPS survey (54.58 Ha as per GR), is located in Tumkur district, Karnataka and has geological resources of 8.35 mnt. The mine comprises deposits of average-grade Fe 60.43% (haematitic iron ore) and Fe 39.85% (haematitic siliceous ore).
