India: Power disconnected from Meghalaya’s ferro silicon units amid tariff arrears

The Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited has initiated widespread power cuts across various industrial plants (including all ferro silicon units) due to unpaid tariff difference dues, as per a recent notice. The dues, pending for over six months, have caused financial strain on the corporation, which has halted power supply until the companies settle payments and initiate reconnection.
