Portside trade for South African RB2 (5500 NAR) coal remained largely muted today as traders preferred to hold offers higher at INR 11,000/t at Gangavaram after imported prices rose sharply. RB1 (6000 NAR) prices were at $158/t FOB on 23 Nov’21, up $11/t d-o-d. Lower stock at major ports prompted traders to hold offers amidst rising enquiries from sponge iron manufacturers, informed market participants.
