India’s portside prices of South African thermal coal showed mixed movements this week. RB2 (5500 NAR) prices fell by INR 150/t w-o-w to INR 9,350/t, while RB3 (4800 NAR) rose by INR 250/t w-o-w to INR 7,850/t, both ex-Gangavaram. The market witnessed subdued trading activity amid increased reliance on domestic coal. Localised demand, amid low RB3 inventory, drove up tags.
