Amidst a rebound in South African coal import prices by around $20/t on 5 Nov’21, portside offers of RB2 (5500 NAR) rose to INR 12,500/t at Gangavaram port against INR 11,000/t last week. However, no major deals were heard, as sponge iron manufacturers adopted a wait-and-watch policy, withholding purchases. RB1 (6000 NAR) coal prices are assessed at $144/t, FoB basis.
