Indian Plate prices are shrinking on account of passive demand spread in the domestic market.Manufactures and traders remained in distress and have started offering rebates and discounts in order to boost the sales in the Indian flat steel market.
Current prices of commercial grade plate are hovering in the range of INR 35,500-36,000/MT(ex-mill).Prices are exclusive of Excise duty of 12.5%.
In major markets prices of plates are seen at INR 40,500-41,000/MT(ex-Delhi) and INR 39,500-40,500/MT (ex-Mumbai).Prices are inclusive of Excise duty of 12.5%.
Major Indian Steel-makers are offering plate in the range of USD 505/MT,Fob basis.Some deals have been concluded to Europe in the range of USD 540/MT,CFR basis.
Chinese Plate Export Offers Stable On Uncertain Domestic Market
Chinese plate export offers remained static, W-o-W owing to volatile sentiments prevailing in the Chinese domestic market.However,unstable prices in domestic market has put Chinese plate export offers under pressure.
Currently plate export offers from China are heard to be in the range of USD 485-490/MT, FoB China. Meanwhile Chinese domestic plate prices are assessed in the range of RMB 3,720-3,780/MT which is equivalent to USD 541-550/MT, Prices are including VAT taxes.
Constant decline of plate export offers since last Friday has propelled the Chinese manufacturers to accept the lower bids and cut the prices to clear out the inventories in the domestic and global market.
Despite,rebound of prices both in paper and future market came with the indication of positive sentiments in the domestic market.But prices started declining soon given enough scope for overseas buyers to strengthen their bargaining power.
Overseas buyers are bidding plate export offers around USD 470/MT,FoB basis,however Chinese mills are still reluctant to accept the offers below their domestic prices.
CIS-Countries Plate Export Offers Move Up This week
CIS-origin plate export offers have seen rising and are heard in the range of USD 510-515/MT,FoB Black Sea. SteelMint heard through sources that major CIS nations based exporters are booked till March shipments.
