Tight supplies of pig iron in West Bengal’s Durgapur market are likely to keep prices strong. Suppliers have raised pig iron offers to INR 45,000-45,200/t exw. As per sources, a key pig iron producer in Durgapur is planning to carry out blast furnace maintenance works. Operations are expected to remain suspended for about two months.
