With the arrival of monsoon and sluggish demand of finished products, Pig iron prices have fallen upto INR 500/MT.
Pig iron traders believe that the market has paused, making fewer activities. This plain response from the buyers’ side had made manufacturers to correct Pig iron prices with a thought, it would trigger the purchase activity.
A trader at Durgapur shared, “Even though Pig iron prices are correcting, we don’t see much of buying interest from the purchaser side.”
Similarly, prices in Central India have also fallen by INR 200/MT, where Monnet is selling Pig iron at a range of INR 25,800-26,000/MT (Ex-Raigarh).
Foundry grade markets also remain unchanged, with prices on the same level.
