Steel grade pig iron prices continued to rise in Eastern India, specifically in Durgapur due to supply shortage as two plants are packed with export orders, hence they have cut short domestic supply. Also, one blast furnace of a Jharkhand based plant is on maintenance, since the beginning of the week, resulting in limited supply in the spot market. Current offers in Durgapur are hovering at INR 32,500/t & INR 31,500-800/t exw Jharkhand, up by INR 1,000-1,500/t, w-o-w.
