India: Pig iron exports dip over 35% on year in Q2 FY21 on better domestic realisations

India’s pig iron exports have fallen by over 35% to 245,380 t in Q2 FY21 from 380,052 t in the same period last year, as per Customs and SteelMint data. Exports have dropped sharply by 85% in Sept’20 over Aug’20. Leading exporters such as JSPL and minerals major Vedanta have downsized allocations in tune with steady demand recovery in the domestic market and better sales realisations.
