Pellet manufacturers have kept prices stable as of now. Pellet prices in Barbil for Fe 63% are at INR 5,500-5,600/MT (loaded into wagons). While, in Durgapur prices have also remained at previous week’s level i.e INR 5,900-6,000/MT (basic).
State based miners are hopeful about the fact that state government may allow mining by end of this month with certain terms & conditions. Following this, Iron ore as well as Pellet prices might come under pressure over increased availability in the domestic market.
Pellet prices in Central India have also remained stable. Raipur Pellet prices are in the range of INR 6,100-6,200/MT (basic).
In western India, Pellet prices have fallen to INR 5,300/MT, delivered Kandla. A market participant highlighted that there is limited buying from steel mills as they are seen preferring imported lump over domestic Pellets.
In southern India, demand continues to witness a downward trend. Prices for Fe 63% Pellet are currently at INR 6,450/MT. Fe 61% Pellets are at INR 6,250/MT (basic).
