India: PCI coal imports from Russia drop over 20% in Aug’22

India’s PCI coal imports from Russia fell by 24% m-o-m to 0.38 mnt in Aug’22. Despite cheaper availability of Russian PCI, the volumes dropped amid fear of sanctions. Meanwhile, imports from Australia rose by 26% m-o-m at 0.58 mnt. India’s total PCI imports remained largely stable m-o-m at 1.04 mnt in Aug’22.
