India: Passenger vehicle sales up 24% m-o-m in Jul’21-SIAM

Total production of passenger vehicles (PV), three-wheelers, two-wheelers and quadricycles in Jul’21 stood at 2,099,035 units against 1,693,639 units in Jun’21, as per data published by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

July sales:

• PV sales recorded at 264,442 units.
• Three-wheeler sales stood at 17,888 units.
• Two-wheeler sales were at 1,253,937 units.

Rajesh Menon, Director General, SIAM said “The Indian automobile industry continues to face headwinds in the form of global semi-conductor shortage and the steep rise in commodity prices.”
