India: Paradip Port Clocks 112.69 MnT Cargo Handling in CY’20

Paradip port – one of the major ports of India, has clocked 112.69 MnT of cargo handling in CY’20, up 3% from the previous year. As per the data shows, the cargo handling capacity at the port increased consistently in the last six years.

In CY’19, the port registered 109.27 MnT cargo handling and in CY’18, it was recorded at 102.01 MnT.

According to data maintained with SteelMint, India exported 19.14 MnT iron ore in CY19. Out of this, Paradip port exports amounted to 8.5 MnT, occupying a share of nearly 45%.

Established in 1962, Paradip port is one of the major and important ports in India, situated in the state of Odisha. Paradip port is the first major port in the East Coast commissioned, after independence.
