Sponge iron export offers climbed by $20/t, with surging domestic prices on higher coal prices and active demand. Fresh offers for FeM 80% lumps are at around $480/t CPT Benapole, equivalent to $510/t CFR Chittagong, Bangladesh. In the beginning of this week, deals of around 10,000-12,000 t were reported at $460/t CPT, equivalent to $490/t CFR Chittagong. However, demand may slow down due to surging prices.
