Leading merchant chrome ore miner Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) will conduct an auction for 136,000t chrome ore (32-54% Cr2O3) on 26 May’21, as per latest information available with SteelMint. Out of the allotted quantity, 35,100t is of regular-grade, with 26,400t from OMC’s South Kaliapani mine and 8,700t from the Sukrangi mine. Ferrochrome prices fell by 11% in May’21 and it is expected that the base price at the auction could correct downwards by around 10% in sync with ferrochrome prices.
