Bhubaneswar: Orissa Mining Corporation (OMC), Chrome ore of 54+ grade prices has dropped by 23.78% to INR 12,186/MT for the inside state buyers in the October round of e-auction.
OMC , state owned miner, is the largest merchant seller of Chrome Ore in India. It is being sold through E-auction, ion which 70% is reserved for state based industries and rest for outside state.
OMC produced 580,000 MT of Chrome Ore in financial year 2013-2014 and aims to produce 480,000 MT in 2014-2015.
The price for +54 grade was INR 15,989 in the August e-auction. Meanwhile, the prices of the same grade have been increased by 22% to INR 17,586 against INR 14,389 in August. There was no Chrome ore auction in the month of September.
On the other hand the prices of 52-54 grade has increased slightly to INR 14,538 for the inside quota. In this grade category the price for the outside state buyers has increased significantly to INR 17,538 from INR 12,545 in August.
